House No. 05 · Advisory

The partner who sold you the work stays until it is finished.

Assaf Consulting takes fewer than sixty engagements a year, in operational restructuring, supply‑chain design and post‑acquisition integration. We will not accept a mandate we cannot staff with the partners who pitched it, and we do not hand a client to a team they have never met after the engagement letter is signed.

Capabilities

Four practices, all of them operational.

We advise on things that change what a business physically does on a Monday morning: where the inventory sits, who signs off a purchase order, which plant runs which line. We do not write strategy documents for their own sake.

Operations & Supply Chain

Network design, inventory policy, supplier consolidation and throughput recovery for manufacturers and distributors. Work is measured in days of cover, fill rate and cost per case — numbers the client's own systems already produce.

  • Network Design
  • S&OP
  • Procurement
  • Plant Throughput
  • Logistics

Integration & Carve‑out

The first two hundred days after a deal closes, run properly: legal entity separation, systems cutover, duplicated function resolution, and the honest conversation about which synergies were always fictional.

  • Day‑One Readiness
  • TSA Exit
  • Systems Cutover
  • Org Design

Restructuring & Turnaround

Thirteen‑week cash management, working‑capital release and operational restructuring for businesses under covenant pressure. We work alongside lenders rather than around them, and we say what the cash actually does.

  • 13‑Week Cash
  • Working Capital
  • Cost Base
  • Lender Reporting

Energy Transition & Industry

Decarbonisation of heavy industrial estates and freight networks, costed against real capital budgets. Every recommendation carries a payback period and a named alternative, including the alternative of doing nothing yet.

  • Abatement Costing
  • Fleet Transition
  • Grid & Siting
  • Reporting

How we work

Four phases, and a partner present in all of them.

Partner time is not front‑loaded into the pitch and withdrawn afterwards. The chart below shows the actual shape of partner involvement across a typical eleven‑month engagement, against the industry pattern.

What we decline

We turned down 214 mandates last year.

Saying no is most of how a small practice stays a good one. These are the three reasons we give most often, and we give them within a week rather than after a month of courtship.

i.

We cannot staff it properly

If the partners who would run the work are committed elsewhere, we decline rather than substitute. A named team at the pitch that becomes a different team at the kick‑off is the oldest trick in this industry and we do not use it.

ii.

The answer is already known

Where a client wants a document to justify a decision already taken, we say so and step away. Independent cover is a real service; it is simply not one we sell.

iii.

There is a conflict we cannot cure

The Group's conflict register covers all eleven houses. If accepting would place us opposite a client of Assaf Law or a holding of Assaf Finance, the Conduct & Ethics Committee rules, and its ruling is final.

Contact

Tell us the problem, not the scope you had in mind.

First conversations are with a partner and are not chargeable. If we think another firm is better placed, we will name them. If we think you do not need consultants at all, we will say that too — it happens more often than you would expect.
